Through excellence in academic instruction and character development, Circle City Prep ensures all K-8 students are ambitious, powerful learners and responsible, positive leaders on a path to college and a life of opportunity.
- By 2020: All 3rd graders will read and do math on or above grade-level.
- By 2025: 100% of graduating 8th graders are enrolled in a selective enrollment high school or college track courses at a public high school.
All our students will graduate Circle City Prep on a path to college and this is how:
More Time. School starts at 7:45am and ends at 4:00pm. We spend significant time on literacy and math instruction with time for science, social studies, art and physical education.
Extra Supports. Two teachers present during daily two hour literacy block. Additional instructors during daily “choice and tutoring time.”
Experiential Learning. With 4-6 field trips (“excursions”) each year, students explore farms and forests, attend the theatre and the symphony and experience the Eiteljorg and the State House.
Technology. With every classroom equipped with technology, students spend 40 minutes a day on an adaptive computer program in literacy and math.
21st Century Learning. Starting in 5th grade students add an additional enrichment class to their course load in either Speech or Technology. Students will engage in debate and rhetoric courses as well as learn to code and build websites by graduation.
Meditation and Goal Setting. Daily yoga and goal setting allow students to reflect on outcomes and take control of their own destiny.
